WORTHY IS THE LAMB! On December 9, 2005, approximately forty gorgeous ladies gathered at the Arlington Christian Bible Felowship Church, to partake in a physical and spiritual nutritional event. Being present at this first historical forum, confirmed these ladies' acknowledgment that making a spiritual difference in their respective home, churches and communities, is extremely essential. The event commenced with the invocation, and then our own First Lady, Sister Felecia Bessman, welcomed everyone and introduced the officers of United Christian Ministry (UCWM). This was followed by singing of Christmas Carols, songs of
thanksgiving, praises and games. Preceding these, a scrumptious breakfast was served by the ladies of the Kitchen Ministry and that addressed our physical appetite.
Now, the hour to nourish our spiritual need, was blessed by a remarkable speaker, Sister Anita Harris, who addressed us from Rev. 19:7- "Let us be glad and rejoice and give honour to Him for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and His wife had made herself ready." The question presented here is; ARE WE PREPARED TO MEET THE BRIDEGROOM AT THE ALTAR, OR WILL WE BE CLASSIFIED AS THE RUNAWAY BRIDE BECAUSE WE ALLOWED IMMORAL BEHAVIORS TO KEEP US FROM MEETING THE BRIDEGROOM? Sister Harris admonished us to be both hearers and doers of the Word. When our works flow from a pure heart that desires to please God, we have chosen nonperishable materials and our temples can withstand the judgment of God. When we allow our personalities, politically correctness, social issues to replace spiritual wisdom and the desire to please God, we are selecting perishable material and our temples will be consumed in the fire of God's judgment. We definitely need sisters who will unashamedly walk in truth- Ephesians 6:14 "stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having the breastplate of righteousness." We as Christians should stand tall, even if it means standing alone in truth. The sister highlighted the necessity of INDIVIDUAL HOLINESS, so that at the end of the day, our legacies will not be that of LUKEWARM Christians, but of women who were FIRED-UP and ready to meet the LAMB.
In summary, this was a fulfilling event. Everyone departed with a personal message. I was reminded of a song in the mid 1970's by a group named Shalamar- "THE SECOND TIME AROUND.? This song suggests that the second time around is better than the first. This phrase, for Christians, has an awesome meaning: The first time Christ came to save lost souls, but the second time, will be to reward the saved. The first time He was placed in a borrowed manger, the next time, He will be seated on the throne of God. He, who was was wounded for our transgressions, bruised
for our iniquities, will return and wipe away all our tears and there will be no more pain. THE SECOND COMING WILL BE MORE GLORIOUS THAN THE FIRST. Let's continue struggling together for equality, justice and love. DON'T ALLOW SIN TO KEEP US AWAY FROM MEETING THE BRIDEGROOM!. Special thanks to all who heeded the call to attend this event. Best wishes and love -
