The year 2005 was a special year for pastor, Rev. Nathan S. Kortu Jr. There were three major events that was involved in his life in 2005. First of all, on April 6, 2005, he turned 50 years old. Secondly, the month of November 2005, celebrates his 30 years of ministry. Finally, he has pastored New Life Fellowship Church in Euless, Texas for over 12 years.
Pastor Nathan S. Kortu Jr. graduated from Christian Life Center, Stockton, California in 1989. Pastor Kortu and his wife Dianne moved to Herrin, Illinois to work with Rev. E. Ervin of West Monroe Apostolic Church. However, in December of 1989, The Lord called them to Dallas, Texas. Sis. Dianne Kortu pursued her Masters Degree in Student Services at the University of North Texas, while Pastor Kortu enrolled at Criswell Collegein Dallas.
By late December, 1989, the civil war broke out in Liberia, West Africa. This brought Liberians together in the Metroplex for prayer and encouragement to each other. By 1990, Rev. Nathaniel Johnson, Rev. Theo Bessman, and Rev. Nathan S. Kortu Jr. began to serve the Liberian people with prayers. Rev. Nathan S. Kortu Became Assistant Pastor to Rev. By 1994, Pasor Kortu began a new ministry, called New Life Fellowship Church. Services were held at various homes for about one year, and later moved to Liberian Community Center in Euless, Texas. By 1999, New Life Fellowship Church, secured a permanent building. By August of 1999, a licensed day care center called Mid-Cities Little Kingdom Child Care Center was established. By the year 2000, what used to be the gym was renovated to be a permanent worship center.

This happy occasion was celebrated in November, 2005, by friends and family throughout the United States and Liberia. The ceremony was preached by Rev, Larry Blake. Rev. Blake was born on August 12, 1939 in Neoga, Illinois. he received his license with the Illinois District of the United Pentecostal Church in 1956, and was ordained in 1960. He evangelized from May 1957 until February of 1959, and then pastured in Illinois until 1974. During this time, he served as Youth President for the Illnois District.
The Blakes (Rev. Larry Blake and his Wife Ruth) received a foreign missions appointment to Liberia, West Africa from 1974 to 1979. Brother Blake served as president and instructor at both the Maranatha Bible Institute of Liberia and the Ghanian College of Bible in Accra, Ghana. From 1988 until 1991, the Blakes served as the furlough replacement missionaries in seminars and conferences under the auspices of the Foreign Missions Divisons in Germany, Fuji, Cameroon, Gabon, Sierrra Leone, Cote d’ Ivorie, Kenya, South Africa, Puerto Rico, Bahamas, Jamaica, France, Belgium and throughout Norrth America.
Rev. Blake served for seven years on the Illinois District Board as Presbyter of Section Four. Presently, he is vice chairman of the Foreign Missions Asssociation.
